I'm sad. I'm mad. I feel helpless.
Dito sa Lewis College, we have programs that aim to help students finish their studies. We even partnered with a good org that sponsors kids for their college education. So sa isip ko, itong mga kababaihan na kasama ko sa dorm ay talagang makakapasa at makakatapos ng pag-aaral nila.
But bilang dorm "nanay", I've seen the struggles of these young women that would make them want to quit. Meron dyan ayaw na sana kasi hindi sapat ang allowance niya pang-ulam sa 1 linggo (her parents sometimes give her 100-200 to live on for a week). Not to mention the expenses for making projects, assignments, etc. Thankfully just when they thought they should quit, some of their classmates would pull together and chip-in to help.
Pero ngayong tapos na ang 1 sem, talagang ang iba ayaw na talaga.
One student had to go home for 1 week just to take care of her 2 brothers because her mom was in Manila working for them to have some...
